FAME! PDF Print E-mail

Congratulations and well done to all the children who performed ‘Fame’ for Schools Alive at the Grand Theatre on Thursday, 10th February.  For many children in our choir and dance club this was their first public performance.

Thank you to all the parents who supported the event both at the performance and by helping children to learn the song words.  A special thank you also to Mrs. Walton, Mrs. Brookes and Mrs. Barton for all their hard work and dedication in rehearsing the choir and to Mrs. Docherty for organising the dance moves.

Parking Problems Again! - Turning Circle Closure PDF Print E-mail

As I am sure you are all aware parking is not permitted on the roads outside the school, including the turning circle.  Unfortunately, a small minority of parents are not adhering to this and are parking illegally, putting children’s safety at risk.  School Governors have tried to discourage this and have issued notices. Unfortunately, a number of drivers have ignored the requests.

As a result, I regret to inform you that we are left with no alternative but to close the gates to the turning circle at 3.15 pm each day next week and not reopened them until 3.45pm.  In addition, parking attendants and the police will be patrolling Whernside and will issue tickets to anyone who has parked illegally.

May I remind you that Booths have again very kindly offered the use of their car park to our parents.  I urge you all to use this facility to help us reduce congestion outside school.
